Someone who wouldn’t belittle your situation, make you feel small or hold it against you in the future?
Someone you could trust. Someone who wouldn’t scold you, tell you what to do or make the situation worse?
Sometimes sharing our struggles with the ones we love the most can be the most problematic. Maybe we don’t want them to know the depth of our struggles because they are depending on us to have it all together and if they knew, it would scare them or cause them anxiety. This is why many people don’t share their struggles with their spouses or their children because they don’t want to cause additional worry for their family members.
Or maybe you have tried talking to someone, but that person lacked empathy and could not understand your struggles, making you feel incompetent or weak.
Or maybe you are embarrassed to share your struggles with anyone. If they knew, they might judge you, think less of you or not want to associate with you.
Or they want to give you all their solutions without truly listening to your heart.
Or maybe if you shared your relationship struggles with a friend or family member who is extremely loyal to you, they may not forgive the person you are struggling with as easily as you would.
I have been in each of these situations. And I can help you!
